Question:
I never had a brace as a child and maybe I should have as I really hate my teeth!
Its mainly my two front ones and the two either side of that, they seem to stick out a little. Is there anything that can be done without a brace? Roughly how much would that cost?
I am 33 yrs old so not sure if that makes a difference! ...Visitor from UK
Answer:
Depending upon the severity of the flare or bucked appearance, Invisalign aligners may work for you.
Traditional braces may be required however. Dentists who are proficient with accelerated orthodontic treatment (6 months or so instead of 1-2 years) may be able to help you achieve the appearance you want. The cost is similar to standard orthodontic treatment.
Reconstructive dentistry can offer some alternatives but the cost can run as high as 4 to 5 times the cost of orthodontics. The tooth structures are replaced with implant teeth.
