Question:
I had braces when I was 12 1/2 yrs old. Got them off when I was 15. I
wore my retainers for many years faithfully. About a year ago, my bottom
retainer broke. I am a full time student and don't have much money. I was
dismayed to see one of my teeth moved.
When I got my retainers, my tooth was like that until the retainer was put in aligned position. It was fine until my retainer broke. I am wondering if I should get a new retainer as soon as possible? My teeth are the same so far, except for that one tooth that moved.
I'm getting nervous going this long without a retainer for fear of other teeth shifting sooner or later. Should I get a new retainer as soon as possible? They're very expensive nowadays. I hear they can go as high as $400 apiece. ...Visitor from IL
Answer:
Yes, go to your orthodontist and ask for a new retainer.
