FAQ:  Allergic Reactions

Allergic Reactions Ask The Dentist James Awbrey Question:
Braces cause Swollen Lymph Nodes? Can a person be allergic to braces?

Soon after my son had his braces put on his lymph nodes started to swell. Is it possible that he is allergic to the Nickel in the braces?

He has been tested for every other possible cause ...Visitor from NJ

Answer:
Yes, you can be allergic to nickel, although I have not seen or heard of a case to this extent.

This may be only coincidental and possibly something more serious is going on. I would go by the recommendations by your doctors.
