Question:
Braces to make room for adult sized tooth? My daughter lost her last baby tooth Upper Lateral Incisor.
We went to the Dentist and he said the adult tooth will be too large for the space available and said she needs braces to enlarge the space.
How is this accomplished with braces? ...Visitor from AR
Answer:
You don't need to do any braces at this time.
You can remove the primary canine next to the lateral which was lost or reduce the size of it to make
room for the permanent lateral. This will save you the cost of braces and accomplish the same objective.
I can assure you that nothing will be compromised in your child's mouth my borrowing some room at this time. Take your child to a reputable pediatric dentist in your area and get his/her opinion.
