Question:
Bridgework: I had a temporary bridge put in about 2 months ago. It was removed about 3 weeks ago so they could take impressions for the permanent bridge.
When they put it back on, it didn't seem to fit as well. It seemed either one side or the other was loose. They couldn't get both sides to fit comfortably. I had some pain over the next couple of weeks and the bridge slowly loosened over a period of about a week and finally fell off.
When I went back to have it recemented, they still couldn't get the fit quite right. Does the pain I'm experiencing indicate a problem with the temporary bridge? Should the dentist re-do it so it fits better? ...Visitor from MA
Answer:
Two (2) Months in a temporary bridge is a long time unless there is extensive changes being made to your bite and things need to be adjusted prior to the final restoration. I would have the temporary remade.
