Question:
Mini implants to replace bridge: My wife has a bridge and tooth 17 which was crowned, split the crown consists of numbers 17,18 and 19 18 is gone and 19 has had a root canal.
My question is can she get mini implants for the bridge?
Her dentist recommends implants but the cost is staggering and the time factor is prohibitive for her job resposibilities. ...Visitor from PA
Answer:
It is difficult to say without seeing an xray or film, however, replacing a wisdom tooth is not as essential as some other teeth in your mouth, unless it opposes something.
So if you are just planning on restoring #19 with a separate crown and an implant for #18 that should be fine. The only concern is if #18 area has enough bone.
