Question:
Is this pain from the trauma?
I was in a very bad car accident in 1997. Along with other injuries, I broke my jaw bones in four places. I had surgery on them and had my mouth wired shut for a while. Now, almost 7 years later, I am still
having pain along my jaw bones. It gets very bad at times, almost unbearable. It seems that my dentist and specialist don't believe me. Can this be from something besides the accident? Or, Can this actually still be hurting me after all this time? ...Visitor from NC
Answer:
If the teeth are not properly aligned, you could be suffering from TMJ/TMD Syndrome. Go to a dentist familiar with this problem and ask him/her to screen you for it.
Headaches, aching teeth, and sore jaw joints are just some of the symptoms. It is fixable.
