Question:
My husband fell on his face and broke 1/2 of his front tooth. 5 days later he was able to see a dentist. 2 titanium posts were placed in his tooth and a resin was used to fill in his tooth.
Since then, (for 2 weeks) he has had a dull ache (although intermittently) over his right eye, ear, and right jaw. It seemed to be a pressure thing as bending over, or coming in from outside would trigger the ache. Yesterday, the ache disappeared to be replaced with an excrutiating pain in the broken tooth.
He cannot touch this tooth and the air movement from speaking in very painful. Do you have any suggestions as to what could be causing this pain ? My husband has a high pain tolerance so for him to even say that this hurts - there must be a problem. Help! ...Visitor from Plainfield, Ontario, Canada
Answer:
You didn't mention whether or not the teeth had root canals. If NO, then
they obviously need root canals, or possibly they may have fractured roots.
You should also see an oral surgeon to make sure there is no broken jaw. Your dentist should be making the proper decision for him
