FAQ:  Congenital Missing Teeth

Tooth Replacement Choices

Missing Teeth Ask The Dentist Richard Winter Question:
Congenitally 15 Missing TeethOur 9 year old daughter has congenital missing teeth. She will be missing 15 teeth.

She will be missing 9 on the top and 6 on the bottom. Most of the teeth will be her chewing teeth in the back. Do you know anyone with experience with this situation. We would like to receive care in Minnesota but would consider traveling out of state to ensure she receives the best care. ...Visitor from MN

Answer:
Having gone to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry I can say Minnesota has wonderful dentists. One of my previous instructors is excellent with implants and he is a Prosthodontist.

You can contact the dental school for a consultation as well. Either way a congential defect such as this is complex, involved treatment and more than one opinion is always a good idea. Good Luck
