Crowns Ask The Dentist Sam Muslin Question:
Cracked Crowns: I fell and cracked two of my front teeth. One crown and one veneer.

They are porcelain fused to metal. Do they need to be replaced or can they be repaired? They scraped the cement. ...Visitor from CA

Answer:
Replacing the crowns is the best way to go.

Repairs can be made for the time being but will discolor much quicker than porcelain. Some patients for financial reasons just want a repair and will get the crowns done over in the next year or two.
