Crowns Ask The Dentist Corinne Scalzitti Question:
Weather and Crowns - Fillings: I am 59 years old and for the past two years all my crowns and fillings have become sensitive to weather changes.

Everytime we have cloudy or rainy weather and a day or more before and after they all become pressure and hot - cold sensitive.

Anything I can do about this short of having them all replaced? ...Visitor from NV

Answer:
The only reason I can think of that would produce sensitivity related to weather would be swelling of the tissues on the floor of the maxillary sinus (inside your cheeks above the upper teeth).

The swelling of the sinus floor would make the top teeth a little longer and cause you to hit the teeth together sooner than normal.

I would try an antihistamine, see a dentist to evaluate this, or see a physician for studies of your sinus area.
