Question:
Dentures now... Implants later?: I am having all my teeth removed in about a month.
I need to know if after I have full dentures put in, would I still be able to have dental implants put in to stablize my teeth say like a year or 2 down the road? .... Visitor from NC
Answer:
You should be able to have implants placed in a year or two without any problems if the anatomy of your bone and nerves is within normal limits to begin with.
It will depend on where the implants are going to be placed, the number of implants and position of your nerves. Usually when people have natural teeth and become edentulous, there hasn't been enough
bone resorption in 1-2 years to preclude implant placement.
I am sure your dentist or oral surgeon can give you a better picture with your panoramic x-ray at the extraction appointment. Best of luck
