Question:
Waiting Period between extractions and permanent dentures: I am now a 50 year old woman.
I had all of my upper teeth pulled a year ago. I was given a temporary denture right after the extractions.
My problem is I am still wearing the temporary denture and now I have wrinkles above my upper lip. My question is: how long does it take to get permanent dentures after extractions? It has been over a year now. .... Visitor from CA
Answer:
Ususally, people wait 6 months before getting their next set of dentures to allow for proper healing time to occur.
I would ask your dentist when you can begin. As far as the wrinkles are concerned, your dentist should be able to address this concern when fabricating your next set.
