Question:
Loss of Teeth in Accident: I have recieved a few names of dentists from my ear nose and throat doc. How do I pick from them? And how do I decide if inplants or bridges are better?
I'm not sure about the cost problems. How do I decide to pick one that does implants and or bridges or dentures? ... Visitor from CT
Answer:
It can sometimes be very confusing with all the different information available. Implants, crowns, bridges, dentures or a combination.
In our practice, how I try to manage that is to have a frank discussion with the patient and ask the simple question......What do you want?
If the answer is, "I do not want something that comes out of my mouth", that leads us on a path of what kind of dentistry we can do.
If the answer is, "I do not want to alter the teeth that I have remaining in my mouth" that leads us in another direction.
Sometimes money is a factor and unfortunately Implant Dentistry is not inexpensive but usually results in the highest patient satisfaction...
