Question:
Use Implants for Unusable Dentures? All my teeth were pulled about a year and a half ago.
I can not wear the dentures because my lower gums are flat. The denture I have look and feel great.
Is it possible to use them for implants? I'd hate to throw away a small fortune. ... Visitor from WA
Answer:
First of all this is a question that can't be answered without evaluating you, your dentures and your bite in person.
Secondly, if they fit and look great they could be used as a temporary while the implants heal and possibly they could be retrofitted with clips to hold on to a bar or balls extending from the implants.
This will be dependant upon where the implants are placed in your jaw, their angulation and the amount of space available in the denture acrylic for these various housings.
It probably will need to be remade for a bar or partial denture design but certainly can be a blue print
for final esthetics as you are pleased with how they look.. Good luck
