Dry Socket: Symptoms - Relief

Question:
I have something called a dry socket. I am in constant pain...what can I do for relief? ...Jamie in PA

Answer:
Jamie, you need to return to the dentist who took our your tooth. He/she needs to pack the socket with medication after irrigating it. You also need to be on antibiotics.

The irrigation/packing may need to be done every other day for 2 or 3 times until the pain is gone. If you smoke, you could have pain for a while or until you stop smoking
