Question:
Preventing Further Enamel Loss My daughter has been struggling with bulimia for several years now and I am worried about her enamel loss. As she fights this disease, is there anything she can do to minimize the damage? ...Visitor from NY

Answer:
You may want to ask your dentist to dispense or prescribe a 0.63% stannous fluoride rinse to use daily to help decay prevention.

Regretfully the only way to prevent further damage is to treat the cause (bulimia). I understand that is easier said than done. The stannous fluoride rinse may help in the mean time.
