Enamel Loss - Erosion Ask The Dentist Richard Winter

Question:
Rapid Loss of Tooth Enamel: It appears that I am rapidly losing the enamel on my teeth. This happened very suddenly, within the past couple of weeks.

My teeth feel gritty all the time. I take excellent care of my teeth and have a very low sugar diet. My last visit to the hygenist was 3 weeks ago and everything looked fine. What could possibly be causing this problem? ...Visitor from NM

Answer:
Loss of enamel rapidly is rare. People with bulemia, or binging and purging, sucking lemons, and other habits that involve chemical attack of the teeth could be involved.

Visit your dentist- not a hygienist-- and ask your question to them.
