- Restorative materials for dentin: The enamel has come off the back of my upper two front teeth as a result of acid erosion which occurred many years ago. I did have some restoration awhile back which held for 7 years. However those finally came off and it appears that there is only dentin left. I am not certain if there was enamel on those restored areas and if that is what the restorative material was applied to or if it was applied directly to dentin 7 years ago. I think if was dentin because the surface looks just like it did before the restoration that was done 7 years ago. Are there restorative materials that have been developed that adhere to dentin better than it did 7 years ago? ...Visitor in TX (answer)
