Enamel Replacement via Porcelain Veneers
  • Rapid Loss of Tooth Enamel: It appears that I am rapidly losing the enamel on my teeth. This happened very suddenly, within the past couple of weeks. My teeth feel gritty all the time. I take excellent care of my teeth and have a very low sugar diet. My last visit to the hygenist was 3 weeks ago and everything looked fine. What could possibly be causing this problem? ...Visitor from NM     (answer)

  • 10 year old daughter has no teeth enamel: My daughter now is 10 years old. When she started to get her permenant set of teeth, they were having no enamel on them. Till today the enamel has not built and day by day her teeth are worsening and getting more yellow with white lines clearly visible on them. Can you please help me to find a solution to my daughters problem? Tell me a way to create enamel on her teeth if possible. She does not have any pain in her teeth and no cavities yet. Since one year she has started developing brown stains on her teeth. ...Visitor from Tanzania     (answer)

  • See through teeth enamel: I noticed recently that I can now see through my teeth (all my front teeth; halfway from the gums to the tips). The part that is still more opaque is quite yellowed. I am wondering if I will cause more damage if I use white strips? Also, I have always had white spots on my two front top teeth. They come and go (even now with the thin enamel). They show up more in the winter with dry air, but they are not always in the same spots on my teeth. I find that all that confusing. Can you tell me why they would come and go and show in different spots at different times? ...Visitor from MI     (answer)

  • Eroding teeth and beer: Can drinking beer or lager damage teeth in the same way as fizzy drinks such as coke? If my teeth were thinning, at what stage would I need to think about investing in caps or veneers? ...Visitor from Nottingham UK     (answer)

  • Loss of Enamel from Sjogren's: Is there a treatment or something the dentist can use on teeth to help prevent further enamel erosion and tooth decay? ...Visitor from MI     (answer)

  • I have always taken care of my teeth, but was recently diagnosed with acid reflux disease. I can also tell that I clench my teeth at night. What can I do to protect my teeth? I already have noticeable indentions in the back of my top front teeth that have left sharp edges near the gumline. Do I need a night guard? Could that pool the acid around my teeth? I am taking Zegerid, a medication to reduce the production of acid, but is it enough to protect my teeth against stomach acid? ...Visitor from MS     (answer)
