- Dental Appliance for GERD? Some years ago I had an operation to cure(?) my GERD reflux problem. I am now able to sleep without heartburn however lately I notice that when I wake up I have a very acid taste in my mouth, and the last couple of visits to the dentist seem to indicate that my enamel is eroding. I think I have my reflux back. Is there something I can do to protect my teeth from my refluxing stomack acid while I sleep? Protective coating?
