- Jaw Pain after 4 Extractions: A 15yr old with a swollen cheek and jaw pain for a year now. She had 4 adult teeth pulled all at 1 time in order to start on braces. Afterwards the swelling on her right cheek did not go away. She can also hear "click" sounds only on her right side jaw when she moves her jaw. Her dentist did an xray and said that the teeth and everything looks fine. Her swollen cheek wasn't there before, it happened after her teeth had been pulled. I was wondering if the teeth pulling could have injured her cheeks or something else causing her swolling and pain near her back end of her cheek by the ear area. Is there any way to make the pain or swollen go away. ...Visitor from CA (answer)

- Upper Jaw Tooth-type Pain: I have had a toothache type pain in the upper right side of my jaw for about 2 months. The gum is sore between two root-canaled teeth. After 3 weeks, I also started having headaches; I felt weak, sleepy and tired. The pain and other symptoms often disappear in the night. My Dentist did teeth deep cleaning. I went to an endodonist and he excluded that the pain comes from those teeth and the gum. He said that grinding could be the reason. Now I use mouth guard bought in a store, but I'm having mixed results. ...Visitor from IL (answer)

- Air / Gas Bubble under my tooth?: I recently started seeing a new dentist. 2 months ago he did a filling on the lower right and when I left my jawbone and gland/neck hurt for about a week. He said it was unrelated. It hurt where he injected me. Then two weeks ago I went in and had a temp crown put on. He
injected me four times. After leaving office I had same pain as on other side only ten times worse. It is unbearable. If I let ibuprofen wear off I cannot open my mouth and it gives me earache and headache and I can't turn my head. Dentist says unrelated. I went to my MD yesterday, who did a CatScan and said there was an air/gas bubble under the tooth. I called dentist and he said never heard of such a thing but whatever it is unrelated to any thing he did. ...Visitor from MN (answer)

For the past 3 weeks he has had lower jaw pain from the front to back teeth and describes it as an intense ache. The dentist said it will go away and his teeth are just sensitive. The problem is just getting worse. He has had jaw bone deterioration due to his treatments and has had teeth pulled, etc., but no work on the side that is bothering him. - Corrected underbite related to chronic jaw pain: I am currently 25 years old. Between the ages of 8-13, I had orthodontia to correct a (paternally inherited) underbite. I had six teeth removed, use of a headgear, as well as full-mouth braces. My bite was corrected and has been maintained through the use of a permanent lower retainer (still in place). However, I have subsequently had chronic jaw pain, including clicking. The condition has worsened in the past year,
to the point where there are many foods I cannot eat. I also experience daily headaches and jaw pain. My question is: Would orthognathic surgery be implicated for this condition, since I have already had my bite corrected? ...Visitor from MN (answer)

Tongue swelled about a year ago, but dr. felt it was some sort of (undiagnosed) allergic reaction. Our primary physician is clueless. Dentist says its neurological problem. Neurologist says its a dental problem. ...Visitor from WA (answer)
