- I had 4 dental implants put in about 4 years ago to hold my bottom dentures in place. I get pain from time to time. My chin gets inflamed with sores. I put anti septic cream on daily and wash my face daily with anti septic soap. My chin is permanently red and inflamed - some times worse than other times. - Mini Implants: I've had dentures since I was in my 20's. So as I'm now 63, I have bone loss in my lower jaw. I'd like to have mini implants to hold the lower denture in place. A dentist I went to in Mexico tried to warn me off of them, wanting me to have the regular implants. 4 of them in the front only. I really like the sound of the mini implants still. - Immediate Upper Denture: 9 days ago my husband had an immediate upper denture, since then he has been extremely sore, not to mention very depressed. I have been doing some research on mini dental implants to retain the denture. Is this an alternative or will he just have to live with the pain? I am extremely worried about his state of mind as he has even talked about suicide which he has never done before. I just feel so bad for him. - Mini implants - Temporary or Permanent? I have just had a new set of dentures made. Now I am looking at getting implants to stabalize them. My dentist told me that mini implants are a just temporary solution. I have heard otherwise so now I am confused. He also told me that I have great bone density on upper and lower. The cost of the mini implants seem to be much less and even though I have dental insurance it will only pay $1500 which leaves me with a pretty big bill if I get the traditional implants. - Mini implants for Full Upper Denture: I have a full upper denture that is approximately 6 months old. Cosmetically it is fine but unless I use paste or powder to secure it. It will not stay in place while eating. If all conditions are right can mini implants be used to secure and hold a full upper denture and can the part of the denture that covers the pallet be removed? - Too Old for Mini Implants? I am a 76 year young senior who lost my teeth when I was 40 years old. I had bone construction about 10 years ago and am now having problems keeping my lower teeth in. Much difficulty chewing. Is it possible to have implants for a person my age?
