Mini Implant Practices
  • Keeping dentures clean: How do you clean under the dentures when you have the mini implants? Do they snap out or are they permanent? ...Visitor from FL     (answer)

  • Strength: I've been told that my bone is suitable for regular implants and that therefore minis would not be recommended to hold my dentures, because they are weaker. Would more mini-implants be as strong as fewer regular ones? Do the minis help to prevent bone loss as do regular implants? The procedure for putting in mini-implants seems much more attractive to me than the regular ones', but I don't want to sacrifice quality. ...Visitor from NY     (answer)

  • Denture Implants: I've been wearing upper dentures for about 10 years now. My problem is gum diease and the use of the dentures I have now. I have noticed the shrinkage of my gum tissue and am wondering in time what will hold them in place? I don't want to use any adhesives, but considering my gum and bone, if you don't have enough bone what is the alternative? Can a new palate or bone matter be put in place to hold the denture implants? ...Visitor from DE     (answer)

  • Upper jaw: My 84 year old mother in law is looking into getting mini dental implants for the upper jaw. She has an extra bone in the front of her mouth that makes it difficult if not impossible for her dentures to "suction" properly. We are hearing and reading articles on sores, bleeding, inflamation, etc., due to the mini implants, especially when they are in the upper jaw. Our other alternative is to have the bone surgically removed, which we have also looked into. Please give us your opinion on the mini dental implants for the upper jaw . ...Visitor from NC     (answer)

  • Upper jaw: Can the top dentures be held by the mini implants or is it just the bottom dentures? ...Visitor from OK     (answer)

  • 2 or 4? I have only 3 teeth left on bottom with a cusil denture and full denture on top. I can afford two conventional implants or four minis to secure lower denture. Which would work better two conventional or four minis? ...Visitor from NJ     (answer)

  • Dentures: My teeth are horrible and I have no molars at all left on the bottom. My teeth are soft and will not hold fillings. I was in a wreck that gave me major facial trauma and made my teeth loose. I was wondering what to do as I have been putting off getting dentures for sometime, but I lost my last molar on the bottom, on the side I chew on today. So now I will have to do something. I need to know what to do as I will need to get my teeth pulled then dentures. After the dentures when can I get the implants to hold them in place. What is denture stabilization? ... Visitor from OH     (answer)

  • Upper Jaw: My husband is considering getting mini-implants as shown in your video, but the DDS only offers them for the bottom denture. His price is pretty reasonable, but still high. He says it cannot be done for upper dentures, but you've shown that it can. Is it a good idea for a person to take this route? He has had dentures for over 25 years so he is used to them, but has little bone on the bottom jaw to hold his dentures on now. Your opinion is appreciated on whether he should really try something like this or not. ... Visitor from TN     (answer)

  • My top front four natural teeth, the ones you see when you smile, come out a tiny bit more than the other front teeth and overlap the incisors. I am getting them removed and wanted to get mini implants with porcelain crowns or a bridge but I am worried in case the bridge or the mini's won't be able to be put in place when I get the teeth removed because the teeth are not right beside each other. Can you still get these procedures if your natural teeth are situated this way? There is no room for them to be put back in line with the other teeth because the top teeth hit the bottom teeth. ... Visitor from Ireland     (answer)
