- I have a friend that had a procedure that involved removal of gum tissue in order to restore a broken tooth below her gum line. This procedure allowed the dentist to restore the tooth with a composite to "build " a structure for holding a crown. I cannot think --- nor have heard of any such procedure other than a graft. Is there a name for such a procedure, or something of the like? ... Visitor from NC (answer)
