- Protruding teeth: Hi. I am 28 years old and I have had this problem since I was very young. My front upper 4 teeth protrude at an angle and are somewhat pointed. However, I can still close my mouth. I don't know if this is a case of overbite, but whatever it is, I really want to get them fixed, even if it is to remove them and have implants. Sometimes they hurt. I met with a dentist once who said my jaws were too big for my teeth and advised that it is too late to have metal braces on. However, I find it rather discomforting whenever I look into the mirror. I have a social problem because of this.
