Flipper Alternative
Question:
Bad Flipper? I've been going to USC dental clinic.
They pulled out a front tooth as the root was infected. Now I have a very uncomfortable flipper. They are planning to put in a Maryland Bridge.
I have to wait a month for this. Is there something else I can do that my insurance would assist me in paying for? It's been awful going all week with an ill-fitting flipper!
Answer:
You may be surprised to know that many people wear flippers for years. It has only been a week so you may just need to get used to it. If it does not fit properly you will never get used to it.
Some people cannot wear flippers at all for what ever the reason happens to be but insurance companies are pretty restrictive with their policies so you may just have to adapt.
There are ways to get a tooth to temporarily attach to the neighboring teeth to replace the flipper but insurance usually won't pay for it.
