FAQ:  Flippers

Flipper Alternative

Flippers Ask The Dentist Ara Nazarian Question:
Swelling: How long does it take for the flipper to look natural to your face?

When does swelling go down? ... Visitor from OH

Answer:
When losing a front tooth a flipper doesn't always feel or look that great. This is because it is just a temporary fix until the area heals after an extraction or implant placement.

One method I utilize in my practice alot is a clear invisalign type retainer where the fake tooth is inside the retainer. Here is an example of a flipper alternative

Patients state they can speak and function like before and most importantly, there isn't any force on the ridge or excessive friction on the gum tissues.
