Frenectomy Surgery Dentistry James Awbrey

Question:
Frenulum Surgery: There is a frenulum that goes from the inner mouth to the gum between the two front incisors.

Is it best to clip the frenulum before braces are installed or after braces are installed? ...Visitor from MO

Answer:
You can remove the frenulum prior to braces being placed or after, it really does not make a difference.

The braces themselves will not inhibit the surgeons ability to remove this frenulum. I would, however, remove the frenulum prior to closing the space between the central incisor.
