Question:
My gums bleed at night at least twice a week. They don't bleed when I brush. Why would my gums bleed at night when I'm sleep? ...Visitor from NM
Answer:
How do you know that your gums bleed at night? Is it a taste or do you see blood on the pillow?
Spontaneous bleeding is very rare. If the gums are bleeding at night it may be coming from a grinding of the teeth problem. This may cause the trauma that would create the bleeding.
You may want to review the tooth brushing method because you need to brush the gums tissue as well as the teeth. Oftentimes people brush too high up on the teeth and do not get the area where the teeth meet the gums. If you are not touching the tissue it may not bleed. IF you are.. then it may be just one tooth that has a concern.
Consult with a dentist to obtain an accurate evaluation.
