Question:
No Gums due to dentures: I have had dentures for 40 years. I have no gums left. I look like I have no teeth. My gums often hurt.
What kind of surgery should I have for this problem. .... Visitor from NC
Answer:
I am sorry for your problems. You should get an appointment with an implant trained dentist.
You will most likely need bone grafting and implants or sub-periosteal implants. These are things that you can research on the internet or contact your dentist for more information.
The ability to stabilize and support dentures will decrease rubbing and gum pain. The use of implant supported dentures will improve your looks, smile display and give you an improved drape to your lips and face. I wish you luck.
