Question:
Is it possible to remove a standard Branemark dental implant and have it replaced with a mini dental implant [MDI]? I had a front upper implant placed a couple of years ago but don't like the aesthetic result.

Answer:
Yes you can remove any implant, however when removing the implant often a large piece of bone will be removed with it. Implants integrate with the bone in a sense becoming one with the bone.
If you are unhappy with the result of the implant you may do more harm by removing and replacing the
implant, resulting in more dissatisfication with the esthetic result. What may be a better solution is replacing the crown which is on the implant.
Consult with a cosmetic or implant dentist to explore your options.
