Question:
Implants: I'm 40 years old and have braces. I still had a baby tooth that was removed and now trying to get an implant.
I had one done and it was the most horrific thing I ever saw. My orthodontist was not happy and neither was I. The Dentist who did the implant said my braces were in the way and because of that its too hard to get a good impression.
He did another one today but now I am skeptical of his work. What would you suggest? ... Visitor from TX
Answer:
It does sound like everybody on your dental team is on the same page.
I suggest you try to be patient and wait until you see the new crown. I encourage you to actively participate in the color, shape and size requirements in your mind in order to help guide the process to your satisfaction.
That your dentist is willing to work with you towards your satisfaction is a good thing. Give the process a second chance. Even though this sounds like a very straightforward, everyday situation that a general practitioner does on a daily basis, if all else fails at the end of the new crown, then consult a prosthodontist. They are specialists in these kinds of cases.
