Question:
Treatment other than implants: I am 53 yrs old with 6 teeth left on the upper jaw.
Though I have no problem in chewing I still need 2 false teeth on each side of the existing teeth. Dentures have not helped.
I would like to know if there is any other procedure besides implants that could be used. ...Visitor from West Bengal India
Answer:
Your problem is indeed challenging.
Your options are: an upper removable partial denture, 2 independent implant bridges, crowning 2 teeth on either side with a fake tooth or cantilever pontic (1 tooth) behind each canine or mini-implant bridges.
These options are based on the idea that fake teeth need to hold on to something and it is impossible to hang 2 back false teeth off of your natural teeth. You can discuss this further with your dentist.
