FAQ:  Internal Resorption

Internal Resorption Ask The Prosthodontist Chris McFarland Question:
Resorption upper molar: I had a root canal on an upper molar after the diagnosis of internal resorption.

The tooth has been asymptomatic for 6 months. When can I get my crown? Wait 1 year? ...Visitor from CO

Answer:
I'm going to assume this tooth was treated by a specialist.

In most instances, the Endodontist will put you on a recall to evaluate the tooth, and following that recall, they will let you know if you should go ahead.

If they haven't scheduled this appointment, call and request that they evaluate things for the purpose of placing the crown since it has been six months.

Even in the best of hands it's difficult to have absolute certainty that the resorption has ended.
