James J. Awbrey, D.M.D.
Orthodontist, Orthognathic Surgery Specialist
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Awbrey graduated from Dunwoody High School in 1980 in the top five percent of his class and later completed his prerequistes for admission into dental school at Auburn University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with Highest Honors.
Graduating first in his class, Dr. Awbrey received his doctorate degree in dentistry after completing four years of training at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
He completed two full years of specialty training in orthodontics during his residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. In addition to his training as a specialist, he has completed the rigorous additional study and examinations required to become certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Awbrey is among the small percentage of orthodontists in the United States to become a Board Certified Orthodontist.
