Dental Bonding to Fix Loose Teeth?
Question:
I know what I want done on my teeth. I have gone to see 4 different dentists to ask if they could do what I wanted done.
This was to pull a loose tooth and then cut off the root and glue the tooth back to teeth beside it. This would help me until I could afford a permanent solution in a couple of years.
Each time I visited a dentist to ask them this, they instead take all kinds of x-rays, then tell me what they want to do for many thousands of dollars. It seems they did not hear my suggestion at all, and then charge me a hundred and thirty dollars for the consultation.
I know what I want can be done because I had it done to a tooth over twenty-five years ago. Now I have to use super glue. ...Visitor from MS
Answer:
Dentists will only do what is approved and allowed by law. I don't know of any dentist who will provide a service that doesn't follow the "standard of care" as it is defined for the
particular tooth issue you have. No one wants to lose their license to practice.
Each state has their own dental board that spells out what the standard of care is for nearly every type of dental issue. If a dentist doesn't follow the rules... they risk losing their license.
One of the things you can do is consider getting a "flipper" which is a temporary solution for replacing a tooth that will be treated later for a good replacement. It is the most economical
method of getting a tooth in a spot you don't want empty.
