Question:
Implants for upper denture: I would like the mini implants for my upper denture.
However, they seem to used more often for the lower denture. Should they be used for the upper denture? ...Visitor from CA
Answer:
That question is hard to answer without lots more information.
I only use mini implants in the upper jaw to help retain a complete denture that still has the palate covered. So, they just assist with holding in a typical denture.
Even this required sufficient bone height, width, and density. It can be hard to get them in at an angle that allows them to be effective.
Check with someone who has a lots of experience with this technique before committing, no one wants to go through treatment and be disappointed with the end result.
Make sure you let the dentist know exactly what you want so they can determine if minis are appropriate for you.
