Question:
Mini implants to correct speech problems? I recently had my 3rd set of dentures made and am in the process of continued dental visits to get the right fit.
I have had these dentures for about a month now and I still speak with a lisp when I say an "s" sound. Will mini implants help to correct this? These have been recommended by my dentist. ...Visitor from IN
Answer:
No... mini-implants won't change tooth position. So if your lisp is due to position of teeth - they need to be changed.
If your lisp is due to slipping of the denture, which I doubt, then mini's could solve the problem. I would ask your dentist to try and fix the lisp first, then do the mini - implants. Best of luck
