Mini Implants Ask The Dentist Jeffrey Hoos Question:
My Mom is 86 and just got dental implants for her lower dentures. Now she does not like them at all and wants to return to regular dentures. Can she do this after having implants? ...Visitor from TX

Answer:
Someone not liking their dental implant is something that I have not heard before.

If she is in pain I can understand her not wanting them and she should return to her dentist for an evaluation. If her dentures are not staying in place, then she needs an adjustment.

To answer the question directly, implants can be taken out with alot of effort but it is also possible to take off the top part of the implant and just have them not doing anything. I hope this helps.
