Question:
Jaw Placement and Speech: I have had a speech problem for all my life and no one has really found out what was wrong.

I began going to another speech therapist and she discovered that I have bad TMJ. The placement of my jaw is way off.

In the back of my jaw where my teeth ends I do not have that hole or gap that most people have. She believes this could be affecting my speech. Is that a possibility? ... Visitor from IN

Answer:
Your problem is very difficult to evaluate via this forum. See an orthodontist to evaluate the position of your jaw and your TMJ. Best wishes..
