Orthodontics Ask The Dentist - Edward Leventhal Question:
I heard of a new treatment where the dentist uses a little laser to burn the "rubber bands" that hold your teeth in place. Since these are genetically coded to hold your teeth in a certain way. Usually this is performed after orthodontic treatment in addition to the retainer. What is the name of the treatment? Is it paradonticts? ...Stacey

Stacy, I have not heard of this technique. You can contact the American Association of Orthodontists and find out more about this method. Hope this helps.
