Question:
I am getting braces because I want my teeth to be pushed back. But the orthodontist I went to said she would have to pull 4 of my teeth out, 2 from the top and 2 from the bottom, before she could put my braces in. Is this true? ...Visitor from MD

Answer:
It's always wise to get second opinions if needed. One would need to pull teeth out if you have a lot of crowding. You can't just jam the teeth in together for the sake of straightening it as the teeth will be brought out of the bone. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
