Question:
Can you leave braces on beyond the date that they are supposed to be removed? Will it cause damage to leave braces on after they are no longer needed? ...Visitor from TN

Answer:
You can leave braces on past the date of expected removal....as long as you are able to keep your teeth very clean by brushing and flossing properly, AND you have wires that are 'inactive', and your bands aren't lose for bacteria to seep through. Make sure you check with your Orthodontist.
