Question:
I am 35 and have an overbite and crooked teeth. My wisdom teeth are impacted without pain or problems. I've hated my teeth since childhood. Are getting braces at my age always considered as only, by insurance terms,
"cosmetic"? ...Visitor from CA
Answer:
The specifics of your dental insurance will need to be investigated by your dentist and yourself before you will know if ortho. is a benefit. At any
rate, I would definitely encourage you to get an evaluation by an orthodontist to find out your options.
You are very young and will be enjoying your smile for many years! I can't think of a better investment of your time and money than bettering your
smile with ortho. You will also see many other benifits to changing your smile - that I can honestly tell you from first hand experience - will change your life for the better.
First, you will be better able to clean your teeth. You will have improved self confidence and this will be seen by all those around you and your job etc. Treat yourself to more understanding about this with a board certified
orthodontist and you will find a way to do treatment insurance or not. Best of luck.
