Question:
I have an overbite and I would like to get this fixed. However I want to know if there is anything out there that can fix this.
I am 46 years old and I don't want metal braces. I recently had a consultation with an orthodontist and through his expertise opinion he said I was not a candidate for Invisalign. I asked for any alternates that I can do - he was mainly pushing for the metal braces.
I asked about braces behind the teeth. "No" was his answer. I felt money was all he was seeking. I want to know what else is out there. Can I just wear a retainer at night? What can I do? I would like to get this fixed. Do you have any recommendations? ...Visitor from CA
Answer:
I'm going to have to side with the orthodontist on this one. I would like to help you with an alternative however. Invisalign doesn't work very well for most overbite cases. Have you considered braces made with clear brackets .... and how those look?
