Question:
I have had my bottom teeth pulled for about 2 years but I am still haveing bad pain in my gums.
It feels like a nail pushing up out of my gum and the pain is terrible. Any suggestions? ...Visitor from NY
Answer:
Investigate the strong possibility of broken fragments of root tips... very very common. They are difficult to "see" however unless a cone beam catscan is used. 3D imagery permits a rotation of images to confirm or rule out this possibility.
Get a consult with an implant peridontist or an implant dentist who has a catscan in his/her office. Once "seen".... it is not too difficult to remove.
In the event it is a shard of jawbone that hasn't migrated up through the gum tissue, it too, should be easily located.
