Question:
I have a lot of pain in my gum area directly under my right nostril. I have a crown on that tooth and had a root canal on that tooth over 10 years ago.

I can feel the swelling and it is extremely sensitive when touched. What can this be and what can I do for relief? ... Visitor from PA

Answer:
From your description it sounds like the old root canal has reinfected and needs to be retreated or have a surgical procedure known as an apicoectomy. You need to see a dentist ASAP, have an xray taken and a proper diagnosis made. Good luck..
