Pain Gum and Mouth Ask The Dentist James Sanderson Question:
I have been having severe pain in my gums for about a week now. It is only on my lower gums and mainly behind my last teeth. Every time I touch them or try to eat it's too painful. They seem to be a little red and swollen. What might this be? ...Visitor from SC

Answer:
It may be an inflammatory problem or it may be an infection.

I would suggest that you see your dentist and then have it better evaluated. Your dentist most likely will be able to help you make this feel better.
