Gum and Mouth Symptoms

Question:
I am in severe pain. I think it's in my gums. I had similar pain in December. I went to my general dentist. He could find nothing wrong. Even with 2 xrays. He gave me some tylenol 3 and said I should take my xrays to a specialist.

Well, a few days the pain went away. Never filled the Rx and didn't go to specialist. I figured I must have been grinding my teeth in my sleep and pushed my post into my gums and made them sore.

Well now the pain is back. I can barely stand it. It's on the bottom right and seems to be under my last 2 teeth. One of which is the root canal/post/crown. I need to make an appointment but I don't have a specialist. My question is who is the right Dr. to see? Cathy in FL

Answer:
Cathy, an endodontist, root canal specialist. Your pain is coming from somewhere and there is no way that you should not be receiving definitive answers.
